This relaxed fit organic cotton T-shirt was produced by the Parisian brand Ătudes Studio in collaboration with The Kitchenâone of New Yorkâs oldest nonprofit alternative arts centersâas part of a special capsule collection. An homage to several incandescent performances held at The Kitchen by artists including Robert Longo (Surrender, 1979), Timothy Buckley (Barn Fever, 1983), Charles Atlas (We Interrupt This Program, 1991), and William Basinski (Life on Mars, 1997), the printed design on the back of the shirt juxtaposes text and imagery to recall New Yorkâs avant-garde. The word âSurrenderâ and a small âĂâ are embroidered on the front.
The variety of artists represented in the capsule collection reflects the collaborative spirit of Ătudes Studio and the multidisciplinary nature of The Kitchen.
